Hello all
I appreciate this is not what PCD was made for, but I am having one of those really tiresome scenarios where an install goes tits up but you cant get rid of the part install and cant reinstall. I had hoped PCD would help but alas no
In short I got a bluescreenofdeath when installing Adobe Dreamweaver CS3. Despite numerous restore point roll backs it is now impossible to install Dreamweaver - gets as far as popping up the setup box then just disappears. It would appear Adobe Setup, which is involved in this, did not install correctly as it is impossible to uninstall (in the traditional remove progs sense).
I tried using PCD to remove the Adobe Setup. It lists it but as soon as I tell it to proceed it just closes down.
I am using Vista Home Prem and haven't quite got my head around Vista's Events Log - it seems better organised than XP but there a lot more here! Anyway I cant seem to fathom what the log is for when PCD closes. There is an entry about Windows Realtime Defender taking action but the time seems to be wrong.
I have posted this here in case there is someone who knows PCD well enough to help me use it to remove the mis-installed Adobe Setup. I know it is not what it was designed for but adobe support is proving slow and not very helpful.
If not, not to worry....
Free utilities for bad installs/uninstalls...
Try majorgeeks.com. They list a ton of free utilities and I know they have some that should be able to help you with that. That's where I found out about this utility. :)
